Na So Was opens on 21st October 2018 and will include some brand new work from a recent wood firing. These pieces are sculptural and made with connecting vessel forms with hand made silver rivets and loops. Some of the work is dramatically altered and hangs from silver wire. Pieces are mainly vessel based, thrown and altered porcelain with a few new stoneware pieces. Also showing is Paraskeva’s new Smashed porcelain tableware range. Altered whilst the clay is still soft, the edges are soft to the touch under the functional glaze - bringing a certain drama to the table.
Initially meeting at Collect in 2018, Angelika Metzger and Sue Paraskeva agreed to put on an exhibition of her porcelain in Germany at Galerie Metzger. The installation Circle of Porcelain shown at Collect Open was a move forward for Paraskeva’s sculptural works and this exhibition will be a pairing with the painter and performance artist Gila Stolzenfuß.
